Safe to say I won't be rivaling Cheryl or Kim K in the big hair stakes anytime soon, but I have a few products I use to add more bounce and texture to my locks. Having naturally poker straight Asian hair, which is also fine can be tricky to make it big so I kinda have my work cut out to amp up the volume.
When my hair is still damp after I wash it but not soaking wet, (It's easier to work with towel dried hair) I start off with spritzing Bumble and bumble Thickening Hairspray right into my roots. I like this spray as it adds lift to my hair when I blow dry it, usually upside down to really add more volume. I wouldn't say this spray is a game changer but it does a nice job to lift my roots.
When my hair is semi dried, I usually pop in some velcro rollers if I really want big hair but on a day to day basis I've been using Umberto Giannini Glam Hair Perfectly Un Done Spray Wax. They say it 'gives choppy, unstructured, next day hair with texture and definition'. I have to say it does give a choppy, texturising look with a wax like finish - without the stickiness. The only downside for me is the smell it's quite strong (reminds me of a hair salon) so not too unpleasant!
My other favourite texturising spray is a new product I hadn't heard of until I received this in the London Fashion Weekend gift bag, is the Label.m Sea Salt Spray. I really like this product, a few spritz onto dry hair, scrunch it up with my fingers and it gives a nice fuller, tousled finish without it feeling sticky or heavy. For a lighter feel I prefer the Label.m spray and for a firmer hold I use the Umberto Giannini.
Another product I use on second day hair to add more volume is Tresemme Instant Refresh Volumising Dry Shampoo. I love this for when my hair is a bit greasy, it adds lift to the roots, freshens it up and has a nice scent without leaving any white marks.
