BIG HEALTHY HAIR

I'm going through a big haircare phase at the moment, I did a post previously on how I get textured hair, which you can read here and now I've been enjoying some products to add volume and keep my hair nourished - winner.

I've coloured my hair on and off for years so it's not in the greatest condition but nothing a good haircut doesn't sort out. I've seen the L'Oreal Hair Expertise range around for a while but recently picked up the one for coloured hair and volume - L'Oreal Hair Expertise EverPure Colour Care Volume Shampoo. This range is Sulphate free and I was intrigued if this would make a difference to my usual TRESemme shampoo. As it's Sulphate free it does not lather or 'bubble' up like normal shampoo, but if you work with it you will get the same cleansing without Sulphate (which is what creates the rich lather and is found in a lot of household products.) The smell is a bit 'chemical' not to put you off but it's obviously a change from the usual fruity and coconut scents out there! It's a creamy formula and the feel reminds me of a deep cleansing shampoo, a little bit drying but that's what creates the weightless volume.

To prep and protect my hair for styling when it's wet, I use TRESemme Liquid Gold Argan Oil Infused Perfecting Hair Treatment right on the ends and it really help keep them nourished and split ends at bay. I'm quite lazy to apply a hair mask in the shower so this Liquid Gold is perfect to keep my ends soft and replenished, just a few pumps and I rub the Argon infused oil in.  This product can also be used on dry hair to add shine and smooth flyaways, without feeling greasy. I always use a heat protecting spray when I blow dry my hair and my current favourite is Dove Mist Heat Defence, which is light weight and has a nice scent.

When my hair is towel dried, I add a few pumps of TRESemme Thermal Creations Volumising Mousse into the roots and through to the ends, then blow dry my hair upside down. I love that is light and not too sticky, this mousse works with the heat of the hair dryer to create volume and I can definitely see a lift in my locks. There's no crunchy or hardness, just fullness and a nice bounce. The only downside is my hair feels a bit hard the following day.

  2. So pretty! I don't do a lot with my haircare besides scrunch in some L'Oreal hair serum when it's still damp. It takes so long to wash and dry that when it comes to using products, I really can't be bothered haha. I think I'm lucky that I have good hair genes so it seems to be healthy without having to do much!

    1. Thanks Jade, I read your post on the L'Oreal evercare range as well and this shampoo does not smell as nice, which is a shame! x

  5. Pretty! I love Tresemme heat tamer spray and I've tried the L'Oreal Everpure for smoothing but not the color care & volume line. I've never seen that Argan oil but definitely going to keep my eye out!! I used to use just pure argan oil but now I'm using Miracle Divine mix of argan and monoi. Thank you for sharing.
