Most Loved Beauty Extras

These beauty extras may not be very sexy per se but they're my beauty deal breakers. First up my short and straight lashes would be lost without a good eyelash curler, this one from MAC is nice and sturdy and I just need one clamp to get a good curl. After I apply waterproof mascara the curl still stays in place all day - winner. It's also a slightly cheaper alternative to the Shu Uemura ones.

On the subject of lashes, I love these fluttering false pair from the Katy Perry Eylure range in Oh Honey. They are so pretty to wear day or night without making me look like a drag queen!  They are 100% natural and reusable, wispy and not too thick and heavy to wear. The band was a little long for my lash line so I trimmed them slightly and they fit really well.
I don't know what I did before using the Urban Decay Primer Potion, my eye shadow use to smear and smudge before I even left the house (how attractive!) this primer keeps colours and shadows in place all day long. A little really does go a long way I've had this bottle for ages and I like the sponge application. I know a lot of you girls love the NARS primer too, so that's next on my list to try.
A good set of brushes is a must for flawless and precise makeup application. I honestly can't do without applying foundation with the Real Techniques Expert Face brush. I used to use a flat foundation brush but it never blended into my skin that well. This thick and dense brush distributes the product evenly onto your face and you can work in all areas with ease, it's also slightly domed to give you a more natural finish.

For eyebrow colour application I use this slanted shadow brush from The Body Shop. It's the perfect brush density and shape to apply brow colour with precision, without looking too harsh and heavy handed. I like to use the shade Dark Horse from the original Urban Decay Naked pallet to fill in my brows, it's a nice dark brown without too much shimmer.

Lastly this dual pencil sharpener from Benefit is perfect for keeping both thick and thin make up pencils on point, no one wants a blunt kohl pencil on a night out!

  1. I adore real techniques but they aren't readily available where I live (canada) and I can only get the single brushes in the US... I have been searching for the face brush forever but it is always sold out when I go to the US!
    Love this post :)

  3. Definitely want to try out that foundation brush - have you tried a beauty blender yet? I recently used one for the first time and was kinda "meh" about the application, even though most rave about it!

    1. I've never been drawn to use a sponge blender but I know real techniques have one, I worry all the product gets soaked up in the sponge! x

  4. I am the same, I can't survive without the expert face brush! It really is amazing at giving a flawless finish. I have been meaning to try the UD Primer Potion for ages, I'm trying out the Smashbox primer for now but that is definitely next on the list :)

  6. I love RT brushes but some of them are too big for me to easily use. This expert face brush is, on the other hand, perfectly sized and well loved by me! :)

  8. The expert face brush is a life saver! I don't know how I ever applied bases before it. I also need to use lash curlers everyday, I forget about how much I love them though as they've become so commonplace in my routine! x

I need a new pair of eye lash curlers and I've been dying to the Shu Umera curlers.
The RT Expert Face brush is amazing for just about everything that I've tried to use it for. I've been loving it especially for foundation. I really love your blog, Hannah. Beautiifulll ~

  15. i was looking at those lashes today :) Do you wear them everyday? i might start trying that if i can successfully put them on and actually make them look good lol

  16. I know it's so good to use!

  17. Hi Joyce, I only wear them when I go out, they're not too tricky to apply I just make sure the glue is tacky and press them firmly onto my lashline to set them in place :)

  18. Sounds good! :) I was not very good at putting on lashes in college and it has been some time since I've tried. Do you use eylure's glue, or another brand? I just ordered some duo glue

    ReplyDelete
  19. I use the eylure glue, which is good and I've never had any issues with the lashes falling off! I've heard good things about the duo glue, it's a favourite with a lot of girls.
