New Season, Same Me

Who doesn't like a new season? September is such a great month, the last drenches of summer sun, but glimmer of autumn trickling in as the sun starts to set that little bit earlier each night. So instead of a massive urge to overhaul my whole wardrobe and life this season - I'm keeping with things that I already love and just refreshing other parts!

Over the last year I'm been trying to invest in more quality, basic items so I can put together more outfits that last more than one season and don't fall apart in the wash! I'm no fashionista but I always like to look put together with a casual vibe, ripped jeans and shirts, pencil skirts and plain tees. My style never changes drastically but I love adding new textures and colours to what I already own.  This autumn I'm after some tan leather boots, khaki knits and grey demin's, what's on your list?

My skin care regime has stayed quite the same over the last year, I'm still using the REN Clear Calm Clay Cleanser, Lush Tea Tree Toner water and La Roche Posay moisturisers. Some recent changes to my routine include trying out the Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser - nice cleanser but I prefer oil based balms. Makeup wise, I'm so excited to start picking up the purple and berry hues, I'm already wearing MAC Rebel whenever I can!

I don't really believe in typical 'resolutions' but just having an open outlook works for me. I wrote this post a few weeks ago that sums up how I feel about living in the moment.

It's almost been a year since I decided to start this blog and I'm so glad I did! I'm really excited to keep writing, sharing and being inspired. A change is definitely a good thing when it comes to online content to keep it fresh and interesting. I try to push myself to not be afraid to write certain topics and to not always keep it safe, even if it's out of my comfort zone. What are your favourite posts to read?

Are you looking forward to the change of season?

What will you be changing?

  1. I'm looking forward to the season change too. I'm looking to add a few more quality products to add to my wardrobe too because I've been noticing that a few cheaper products (mainly the ones from H&M) just fall apart after like 3 washes. I sort of feel the same way about investing in good quality makeup and skincare too because at the end of the day, I'm actually paying for the ingredients that wouldn't harm my skin.

  2. I agree, I'm trying to stick to the motto of quality over quantity at the moment! It's been good as it's streamlined my makeup and clothes :)

  3. I love the change from summer to autumn but not from winter to spring like here! I just hate that the year's ending so quickly, haha.

  4. oh man. i dont thnk i'm allowed ot add anything more to my wardrobe since i did a huge buy in spring. which thankfully was a lot of fall/winter sale stuff so i can finally wear them now!

    happy accidents.
