How To Make Your Eyes Look More Awake

Why is it when you try and go to bed early, you end up staying up late watching YouTube videos - opps is that just me? Safe to say in the mornings my eye bags are puffy and dark. Without wanting to look like I haven't slept for days, I make sure I have these arsenal of products to hide my tired eyes, cos it's not quite acceptable to work in sunglasses in the office yet.

I leave this Gel Eye Mask from The Body Shop in the fridge and reach for it every morning, I wear it when I'm brushing my teeth and it feels so nice and instantly cooling on my eyes. It's easy to put on and you don't have to lie in bed with cucumbers on your eyes - no one has time for that!

A few more things I like to pop in the fridge is the Botanics All Bright Refreshing Eye Roll On (you sold on the name yet?!) it contains hyaluronic acid to hydrate the eye area, Hibiscus and AHA to brighten and smooth as well. It's an amazing sensation on your eyes and really helps reduce the puffiness. It doesn't feel sticky or greasy and sinks in really quickly. Another eye gel I enjoy using is Benefit Puff Off, the little metal tip (designed like a iron) dispenses a light pink gel which you smooth under the eye to help reduce puffiness and it feels nice and cooling - no one will ever know you stayed up late.

This is the one product I seriously couldn't live without. They said it's a wake up call for tired eyes and it really is. I load a concealer brush with the corrector and really pack it on - I had a bridal makeover at Bobbi Brown recently and was told the more product the better. After I blend it in, it creates a lovely base and cancels out all the purple undertones and discolouration under my eyes. I have a yellow undertone and this light peach shade works wonders.

Who doesn't love this concealer? It's like instance radiance in a bottle, I use the light shade and a few swipes under my eyes and it conceals any shadows. It's easy to use and blend it and you can also dot it around your face to highlighter other area. I know some people like to take the sponge off but I don't mind it as I don't use it for blemishes. It feels light on the skin and not cakey or patchy.

  3. Thanks Ana! Yes it's a must try concealer! x

  4. Thanks for reading Naomi :)

  5. Some great tips! If my eyes are tired, I'll line the inner corners of my eyes with white liner to brighten them up and run a lighter shade of concealer under my eyebrow line to brighten up the area. I've yet to find an eye cream or gel to rave about so will have to check out yours.

  6. I definitely need these tips. My eyes look asleep the majority of the time I swear.

  7. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind is so good! Love it :) Sometimes when my eyes are a bit puffy I use some ice LOL, on really really bad days

  9. That's such a good tip Lucy! When the area around my eyes look lighten I look much more awake! x

  10. That's a shame! It's one of those concealers that really brightens not just concealers :)

  11. I love hyaluronic acid and that Botanics roll-on sounds just beautiful! Unfortunately I didn't really get on with the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind (cause I got a dud and it wouldn't twist up lol) and I found it a bit thick for my undereyes but I really like the Fit Me from them!

  12. Yes the Botanics works really well at making me eyes feel awake! That's a shame about the Age Rewind, it's funny because I can never fit the FIT ME concealer in store and I really want to try it! x

  13. I went cheap on the roller eye gels and use Garnier's Skin Renew Anti-Puff Eye Roller, but I've used it for years and it does the job; it has a nice cooling sensation and helps to depuff the under eye area. Not a miracle product or anything, but I think I like it most for the cooling effects. :)

I also love, love, love the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser! It's got the perfect consistency for the under eyes, I agree, it's not too heavy or too light. I have oily skin and my only gripe is that it can slip around sometimes.
